JAMES H. DILLS
1927-1964
James H. Dills, 37, a well known resident, died at 9:10 a.m., July
8, in a local hospital, after an illness of one year.
He was born in Johnson County, February 3, 1927, a son of A. F.
and Leona Lemaster Dills.
Mr. Dills was a U. S. Navy Veteran and member of the Freewill
Baptist Church.
He was a resident of Collista at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Burke Dills; one son, James
Edward, at home; one daughter, Wanda Lee, at home; one brother,
Bert R. Dills, Mt. Sterling; four sisters, Mrs. S. B. Wolf,
Oxford, Miss.; Mrs. Don Stapleton, Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Eugene
Short, Meally; Miss Ann Dills, Wittensville.
Funeral service were conducted Friday, July 10, at 10:00 a.m., at
the Third St. Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. John F.
Ratliff, the Rev. Richard Williams and the Rev. Herbert Arms,
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers were Clarence Cooper, Berlin Griffith, Ray
Conley, Hershell Bayes, William L. Trimble and Venell Meadows.
