LEONA DILLS
1896-1975
Mrs. Leona Dills, 78, died Thursday, November 27, in the Mountain Manor
Nursing Home at Prestonsburg after an extended illness.
Born December 1, 1896, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
James B. and Mary Ellen Trimble Lemaster. She was a resident of Wittensville
and a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Dills; a son, Bert Dills of Mt.
Sterling; four daughters, Carole Wolfe, Anna Ruth Dills and Marilyn Joy
Short, all of Wittensville and Geneva Mae Stapleton of Detroit, MI; three
brothers, and sisters, Ollie Spradlin of South Point, OH, Tava Pelphrey of
Ashland and Lelia Cooper of Paintsville and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 29, in the Rush Fork United
Methodist Church at Wittensville with Reverends Mabry Holbrook and S. B.
Rucker officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
