CLEVELAND MONROE DUTY
1926-2005
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 29, 1 p.m. at the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home for Cleveland Monroe Duty, 79, of East Point,
Ky., who passed away Monday, Dec. 26 2005 in Pikeville, Ky.
Mr. Duty was born June 10, 1926 in Mingo County, W.Va., son of the
late Howard and Amy Ferrell Duty.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had worked for Harris
Brothers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha
Griffey Duty.
Surviving are one son, Vernon Douglas Duty of Prestonsburg, Ky.;
one daughter, Carolyn Duty Hamilton of Pikeville; one brother,
Arnold Duty of Florida; one sister, Beulah Copley of West
Virginia.; a caregiver, Gale Bryant; and four grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Arnold Turner, with burial in the
Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville, Ky.
