past Sunday.

Sid was a veteran of World War II where he was a Staff Sergeant
in Company C 172nd Infantry Regiment. He was inducted into the
United States Army on May 26, 1943 as a Rifleman. Decorations
and Citations he received were Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon
with 2 bronze stars; Good Conduct Ribbon; Philippine Liberation
Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star and the Victory Medal.

Anyone close to Sid knew he loved to tell his "war stories" and
one he told so often was that he spent 3 Christmases on a ship
while in the Army.

On Dec. 25, 1943 he ate Christmas dinner on a ship and when he
got off he was in New Caledonia.

On Dec. 25, 1944 he ate Christmas dinner and then he loaded on a
ship that was headed for New Guinea.

On Dec. 25, 1945 he again ate Christmas dinner on a ship,
however this one was bringing him back home to his family.

This Christmas we all know that Sid got on another ship to eat
his Christmas dinner but this year he was eating with Jesus. He
never failed to let everyone know where he stood with the Lord.
One of the last things, he said was that he was" 88 years old
and that he was ready to go." And like always when Jesus called
Sid's name without any hesitation he said "Lets go."
