ELZA ESTEP
1866-1952


Elza Estep 85, well-known Johnson County farmer, died at his home at
Fuget at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, after an illness of ten years.

He was born in this county December 13, 1866, and was a lifelong resident
of Fuget. He was a member of the Cold Springs United Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Rachel E. Estep and eight children; three
daughters, Mrs. Clarett Frazier, Flat Gap, Mrs. Verna Baldwin,
Staffordsville, Mrs. Myrtle Burchett, Elna; five sons, Lloyd Lundy and
Glen all of Fuget, William, Thelma and James L., Fairborn, Ohio. Also
surviving is one brother, Rev. Shade Estep, Fuget. Funeral services were
conducted from the home at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 07, by Revs.
Alonza Reed and Tommie Bailey.

Burial was in the family cemetery under the direction of the Jones
Funeral Home.


Elzie Estep

Elzie Estep was born December 13, 1886, and departed this life February
05, 1952, age 85 years one month and 22 days. He was married to Rachel S.
Estep April 27, 1894, and to this union were born 13 children, eight of
whom are living, five having died in infancy.

He was converted and joined the United Baptist Church in the year of 1909
and lived a devoted Christian life until death.

He leaves to mourn their loss, besides his wife, five sons; Lloyd Estep,
Enon, Ohio, William Estep, Thelma Londie Estep, at home, Glen Estep,
Fuget, and James L. Estep, Fairborn, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. James L.
Frazier, Flat Gap, Mrs. Elic Baldwin, Staffordsville, Mrs. Ray Burchett,
Elna. also a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. One brother,
Rev. Shade Estep, also survives him.

Sleep on dear Dad, sleep on, Sweet be the rest you’ve need so long We
loved you dearly But God loved you best So sleep on dear Dad We know
you’re at rest.
