HENRY OWENS
1901-1968
Henry Owens, 67, died Tuesday, October 8, after an extended illness.
Born in Floyd County on May 8, 1901 he was the son of the late S. E. and
Martha Bowe Owens. A retired clerk, he made his residence at Paintsville at
the time of his death.
He was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge, P.M., 381 F & AM, Past High
Potentate of 131 R.A.M. No. 48 Knight Templer and Past Patron of 320 O.E.S.
Surviving are the wife, the former Joyce McKenzie, one son, James F. Owens of
Columbus, OH, two daughters, Neva Misner of Cincinnati, OH and Martha Hatcher
of Raleigh, NC and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 11 in the Paintsville
United Baptist Church with O. I. Williams, Arnold Reed, Lonza Reed, and J. T.
Bailey the officiating ministers.
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. The Jones-
Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
