ALTA PELPHREY
1910-1973
Alta Pelphrey, 63, of Nicholasville, died at her home on Sunday, October 21,
following an extended illness.
Wife of Charles Pelphrey, who survives, she was born April 26,1910, the
daughter of the late Levi and Lucy Hitchcock Fairchild and was a member of
the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include three sisters, Alma Conley of Staffordsville,
Gracie Preston of Ohio, Dora Alice Henson of Lexington and four brothers,
Espie Fairchild and Arthur Fairchild, both of Lexington and Son Fairchild and
Walter Fairchild, both of Paintsville.
Services were held Tuesday, October 23, in the Rockhouse Freewill Baptist
Church with Reverend Melvin Blanton officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with arrangements
under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
