MILT PELPHREY
1891-1963

Milt Pelphrey, 71, died suddenly at his home at West Van Lear at
12:45 p.m., Sunday, February 24.

The son of the late James Milton and Manda Conley Pelphrey he was
born April 21, 1891, in this county and had lived at West Van Lear
for the past forty-two years. A World War I Veteran, he was a
retired C&O Railway engineer and a member of the East Point Lodge
657 F&AM.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hettie Ina McFarland Pephrey; a
stepson, Virgil Porter of this city; two brothers, John Pelphrey,
West Van Lear; Dan Pelphrey, Nellis, W. Va.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February
26, in the chapel of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home with Cecil
Sherman as officiating minister.

Pallbearers were Brooksie Webb, J. Milo Preston, Ezra Robinson,
Everette Boothe, Robert Fraley, Frank Spears, Herbert Deskins and
John G. Sammons.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at
Staffordsville.
