Francis Phelps, 96, of Hager Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at
Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.

Born Jan. 9, 1911, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late Lon
and Ethyl Stanley Phelps. He was a coal miner and a member of the
Church of Christ.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zora Edith Daniels
Phelps, in 1997; a son, James Wallace Phelps; and two brothers, Doug
Phelps, and Bill Phelps.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jean Helton of Huntington,
W.Va. and Frances Franklin of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Edwin
"Pete" Phelps of Meally and Paul Phelps of Melbourne, Fla.; two
sisters, Emma Lee Ward of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Evelyn Miller of
Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at
Paintsville Church of Christ with Kenneth Chambers and Dave Flannery
officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Hager Hill.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 9, from 4 - 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 9, at Paintsville Church of Christ.
