RUTH PHILLIPS
1917-1995
Preston Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of arrangements for
Ruth Lannell Walters Phillips, 77, who died Tuesday, April 4,
1995, at Morris Nursing Home Hurricane, West Virginia.
Mrs.Phillips was born May 31, 1917, in Johnson County, the
daughter of the late Charles and Tava Salyers Walters.
She was a retired teacher from WV’s Board of Education and a
member of the Rose Mount Baptist Chruch of Lexington.
Surviving are her husband, Lowell Phillips; one son, Lowell D.
Phillips II of Hurricane, West Virginia; one brother, Robert
Walters of Erlandger; two sisters, Ernestine Ward of Paintsvile
and Lorene Burchett of Ft. Myers, Florida; and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, at Preston Funeral
Home Chapel, with Lowell Webb officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
