VERTA PITTS
1953-1999
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 15, for
Verta Rae Blevins Pitts, 45, who died April 12 1999 at Paul B.
Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Pitts was born November 2 1953, in Johnson County, to James
Franklin Blevins and the late Bethel Conley Blevins.
She was a member of the Salyersville Freewill, Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Doug Pitts; her father; two
daughters, Jerri McCleese and Nicki Pitts, both of Salyersville;
three brothers, David and Rick Blevins, both of Salyersville,
and Phillip Blevins of Dayton; Ohio; five sisters, Ester Gay
Cyrus of Paintsville, Norma Blevins and Alecia Caudill, both of
Salyersville, Judy Bellew of Carmel, Indiana, and Bonnie Blevins
of Corbin; and one grandchild.
Officiating at 11 a.m. services at Salyersville Freewill Baptist
Church will be Dick VanHoose and Samuel Allen.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with
Dunn-Kelley/Prater & Dunn Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
