ARTHUR E. POPE
1900-1989
Arthur E. Pope, 89, died Monday, May 22, in River View Manor Nursing Home,
Prestonsburg.
Mr. Pope was born May 12, 1900 in Paintsville, the son of Calvin White and
Isabelle Wadley Pope. He was retired from the U.S. Government, a member of
the Missionary Baptist Church,the Odd Fellows, Rebekah's, a Patriarch
Militant, and D.A.V. member. He was a veteran of World War I and II.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur Pope, Jr of Laconia, IN and Charles S. Pope
of Apple Valley, CA; three daughters, Vivian Bland of Woodbury, MN,
Elizabeth Barker of Wabash, IN, and Isabelle Schod of Wheatland, WY; 8
grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services held May 26, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with
Clifford Austin officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
