James Scott Preston, 58, of Paintsville, died Saturday, Oct. 2,
2004 at his residence.
Born Oct. 15, 1945 in Johnson County, he was a son of Shirley
Scott Preston of Paintsville and the late Hansel Preston.
He was an attorney and former county attorney in Johnson County.
Additional survivors include his wife, Cassy Mason Preston; a
son, Heath Preston of Paintsville; a daughter, Lesley Preston
Abbott of Ashland; a sister, Judy Vanhoose of Paintsville; and
two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 6, at
First Baptist Church, Paintsville with Donnie Patrick and John
Boyd officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home and Phelps and Son
Funeral Home.
