Shirley Scott Preston, 81, of Paintsville, died Friday, Jan. 7,
at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.
Born Sept. 29, 1923, in Louisa, she was a daughter of the late
Will T. and Emma Smith Scott. She was a secretary with the
Kentucky State Department and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel Preston; and a
son, Scott Preston.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Lee VanHoose of Paintsville;
two sisters, Mildred Pack of Morehead and Billie Jean King of
Paintsville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 10, at First Baptist Church
with Rev. Hoge Hockensmith officiating. Burial was in Highland
Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of Paintsville
Funeral Home, Paintsville.
