James Monroe "Jay" Prince, 87, of Tutor Key, died Thursday, Feb. 10,
at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville.

Born June 27, 1917, in Floyd County, he was a son of the late James
M. and Minnie Davis Prince.

He was a coal miner.

Survivors include his wife, Merlie Howard Prince of Tutor Key; a son,
James H. Prince of Paris; two daughters, Bonnie L. Daniel of
Springfield, Ohio, and Wanda S. Bishop of Lexington; nine
grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and one great- great-
grandchild.

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 13, at Baker Branch Freewill
Baptist Church with Gary Lafferty, James Rogers VanHoose and Gordon
Ward officiating.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
