Hayes Ramey Jr., 83, of Van Lear, died Sunday, July 22, at Highlands
Regional Medical Center.
Born May 22, 1929, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Hayes Sr.
and Martha Music Ramey.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Ramey; and two sisters,
Bilie Collins and Helen Hill.
Survivors include four sons, Hayes Ramey III, Curt Dean Ramey, Jerry Ramey
and Eddie Ramey, all of Van Lear; two daughters, Brenda Keathley and Evelyn
Joyce Blevins, both of Van Lear; nine grandchildren; and seven great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 25, at Van Lear
Freewill Baptist Church, with Roger Hill and Mike Jarrell officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
