HAYES RAMEY
1905-1988
Retired miner, Hayes Ramey, 82, died Monday May 16 1988.
Mr. Ramey was born August 30 1905 in Johnson County, the son of
Dan and Sarah Collins Ramey.
He was a member of the Van Lear Enterprise Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Music Ramey; one son, Hayes Ramey
Jr., of Van Lear; two daughters, Ruby Perkins, and Billie Collins,
both of Van Lear; one sister, Myrtle Smetanko, of Columbus, Ohio;
and 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 19, in Van Lear
Enterprise Baptist Church, with Roger Hill and Bruce Daniels
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
