RUBEN RAMEY
1928-1968
Ruben Ramey, 60, a saw mill worker in Orgas, WV, died Wednesday, August 28
in the New Memorial Hospital at Whitesville, WV after a brief illness.
Born in Johnson County on January 26, 1908, he was the son of the late Dan
and Sarah Ratliff Ramey. His wife, Lexie Ramey, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Earl Douglas Ramey of Orgas, WV, four daughters,
Vera Taylor of Orgas, WV, Sarah Ward of Paintsville, Betty Reynolds of
Charleston, WV, and Connie Louinde of Buck Creek.
Additional survivors include four brothers and sisters, Hayes Ramey of Van
Lear, Della Dale of Columbus, OH, Montie Bowling of Rodefield, WV, and
Myrtle Smenantko of Columbus, OH, 11 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 31 in the chapel of the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home with Reverends Scott Castle and Claude Preston
officiating.
Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville under the
direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral Home.
