FARMER RATLIFF

Farmer Ratliff, 61, resident of Barnetts Creek, died in a local hospital at
12:30 a.m., Thursday, May 23, of a stroke after an illness of three months.
 
The son of John E. and Dollie Trimble Ratliff, he was born April 18, 1902,
at Barnetts Creek and had been a lifelong resident of that community where
he was a farmer and a miner.  He was a member o the Free Will Baptist
Church.
 
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Spradlin Ratliff; six sons, John
Ratliff, Johnstown, Ohio; Marlion Ratliff, Vandalia, Ohio; Jack Ratliff,
Cherokee, Okla.; Henry, William, and Donald Ratliff, Columbus, Ohio; three
daughters, Mrs. Anna Reed, Franklin, Ohio; Mrs. Peggy Blair, Barnetts Creek;
Mrs. Mary Ramey, Sunbury, Ohio; two brothers, Freddie Ratliff,
Staffordsville; Gordon Ratliff, Jackson, Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Glada
Fraley, King Addition; Mrs. Sadie Melvin, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Clara
Preston, Barnetts Creek.
 
Also surviving are twenty-four grandchildren.  Funeral services were
conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Fairview Free Will Baptist Church
with Leo Colvin and Scott Caste as officiating ministers.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
