Paintsville plumber and electrician Oscar Reed, 68,died August
1,1971, in a local hospital after suffering a long illness.
Services were held three days later in the Pentecostal Church of
Christ, with Cline Salyers and Melvin Blanton officiating. Burial
was in the Turner Branch Cemetary at Paintsville.
He was born in Magoffin County to the late Wise and Lella Williams
Reed.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Daniels Reed; two sons, Douglas
and Fred Reed of Paintsville, and two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Webb
of Dayton,Ohio, and Mrs. Judy Caudill of Paintsville.
Other survivors are two brothers from Knox,Indiana, Tobie and
Arbie Reed; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Grey from Salt Lick, Mrs.
Audrey Wells of Tutor Key, and Mrs. Erma Rogers of Muncy,Indiana,
and four grandchildren.
All arrangements were cared for by the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville.
