Hattie Stapleton Rice, 95, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Johnson County,
died Sunday, Sept. 8, in Dayton.
  
Born Sept. 3, 1918, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Marion and Minnie Cooper Stapleton. She was retired from General
Motors.
   
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Rice; and
three sisters, Marie Rice, Bessie Spears and Mary Grace Spears.
  
Survivors include a son, Gary W. Rice of Tipp City, Ohio; three
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 21, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Chapel, with Ronnie Spriggs officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones- Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
