Funeral services held Sunday, November 13, for Herschel G. Rice, 78.
  
Mr. Rice was born May 8, 1910 in Johnson County, the son of Luther and Ida
Lee Fletcher Rice. He was a retired mechanic.
   
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Homer (Beatrice) Castle of Hager Hill, and
Mrs. Alva Webb of Traveras, FL; several nieces and nephews.
 
Officiating at services in Preston Funeral Home Chapel were Harold Conley
and Clifford Spencer.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
