MABEL JEWELL RICE
1912-1977
Mabel Jewell Rice, 65, died Thursday, August 4 in Paintsville Hospital after
an extended illness.
Miss Rice was born May 6, 1912, in Iowa, the daughter of Arbie and Laura
Grimm Lemaster. She was a resident of Wittensville and a member of the
Freewill Baptist church.
Surviving are a son, Gary Rice of Wittensville; three brothers, Mitchell
Lemaster and Curtis Lemaster, both of Ashville, OH, and Cecil Lemaster of
London, OH; two sisters, Hazel Deboard of Mims, FL and Margarie Green of
Ashville, OH; four half brothers, Moody Lemaster and Rennie Borders, both of
Columbus, OH, Olgie Lemaster of Ashville, OH, and Arbie Borders of London,
OH; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 7, in the Mouth of Rush Freewill
Baptist Church with Reverends Larry Crabtree and M. T. Womack officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
