WADE RICE
1899-1974
Oil Springs merchant Wade Rice succumbed to a lengthy illness in a
Louisville hospital last Friday, July 19. the son of the late Dr. Grant and
Sina Caudill Rice, he operated a store at Oil Springs for a number of years
and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Rice was also a member of Masonic Lodge 381 F & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Leona McKimins Rice, one son, Gary, of Oil Springs,
two brothers, Wayne Rice and Carl Rice, both of Oil Springs and a sister,
Mrs. Hazel Rice, also of Oil Springs. Funeral services for Mr. Rice were
held Sunday, July 21, in the Methodist Church at Oil Springs with Reverends
Mabry Holbrook and Frank Spillman officiating.
Interment was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Graveside
rites were conducted by the Paintsville Masonic Lodge 381 F & AM, and masons
served as pallbearers.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
