WANNIE MAE RICE
1899-1994
Wittensville resident, Wannie Mae Rice, 94, died Tuesday, February 22 at
Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Mrs. Rice was born July 5, 1899 in Johnson
County, the daughter of the late Andrew and Louise Riley Osborne. She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Rice, in 1972, and a
daughter, Loutisha Rice White, in 1966.
Surviving are five sons, Virgil Rice of Washington Courthouse, OH, James
Rice of Sabina, OH, Charley Rice of Wittensville, Billy Rice of Augusta, GA
and Wilbur Rice of Sidney, OH; four daughters, Venus Wellman of Ashland,
Grace Looker of Troy, OH, Emily Fyffe of Paintsville and Betty Blair of
Louisa; one brother, Flem Osborne of Stambaugh; one sister, Malta Stambaugh
of Stambaugh; and 25 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and two great-
great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 24 at Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Sparks officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Her grandsons served
as pallbearers.
