Mrs. Willie Mae Roberts died in a local hospital, Monday, June17, at the age
of 71, following an extended illness.
 
A resident of Paintsville, Mrs. Roberts was born October 14, 1902 in Whitley
County, the daughter of the late Jim and Clara Foster. Her foster parents
were Jessie Junior Stafford, who survives, and the late Mrs. Grace Hitchcock
Stafford. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and had worked
in the domestic field.
 
Surviving, in addition to her foster father, are her husband, William
Everett (Judge) Roberts; a son, Jesse of Paintsville; three daughters,
Beulah Debord and Dorothy Jean VanHoose of Paintsville and Betty Jo Jasper
of Oceana, WV; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a sister, Emma
Winchester of Tennessee.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Roberts will be held Thursday, June 20 at 11 a.m.
in the Chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Milam
officiating.
 
Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Arrangements
are under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
