GLADYS SALYER
1908-1976
Gladys B. Salyer, 67, died Friday, February 6, at her Hager Hill home after
an extended illness.
She was born May 27, 1908 in Johnson County, the daughter of the late Tom
and Allie Fairchilds Blanton.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, and the Eastern Star and
was employed as a waitress by the Paintsville Bus Lines.
Surviving are her husband, Paris Salyer, a son, Henry Thomas Hammon of Hager
Hill; two half brothers, John Russell Blanton of Lakeland, FL and Arnold
Blanton of Peoria, IL; a half sister, Betty Jean of Mansfield, OH; and 3
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 9, in the Collista Freewill
Baptist Church with Reverends Bruce Daniels and Steve Branham officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
