OSCAR SALYER
1913-1968
Wabash, IN resident, Oscar Salyer, 55, died Monday, August 26, after an
extended illness.
Born at Flat Gap on September 10, 1912, he was the son of the late James H.
and Belle Castle Salyer. He had been a resident of Wabash for the last 21
years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Adams, two daughters, Mrs.
Bob Gratsse of Des Moines, IA, and Mrs. Levi Dennison of Wabash; six
grandchildren; two brothers, Estill Salyer of Sitka, and Ralph Salyer of
Paintsville; and a niece, Mrs. John McCarty of Wabash.
Services were held Wednesday, August 28 in the chapel of the Jones-Preston
Funeral Home with Edgar Hewlett officiating.
Burial followed in the Highland Memorial park at Staffordsville under the
direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
