PARIS SALYER
1899-1978
Paris Salyer, 78, died Thursday, September 21, in Paintsville Hospital after
an extended illness.
Son of the late Tia and Ollie Fairchild Salyer, he was born October 4, 1899,
in Johnson County. He was a resident of Hager Hill and a member of the
Freewill Baptist Church.
His wife, Gladys Salyer, preceded him in death in February 1976.
Surviving are a step son Henry Hammond of Hager Hill; 2 daughters, Ruth
Damron of Morehead and Jackie Sorrell of Dayton, OH; 2 sisters, Vina Stenson
of Paintsville and Jewell May.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 23, in the Collista Freewill
Baptist Church with Reverends Bruce Daniels and Clarence Lemaster
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
