AUSTIN SALYERS
1886-1975
Austin Salyers, 89, died Sunday, October 26, in the Paintsville Hospital
following an extended illness.
Born January 8, 1886, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Ephrium
and Lou Ann Sparks. A resident of Paintsville he was a retired farmer and a
member of the United Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Dixon Salyers; a son, Robert Salyers of
Florida; five daughters, Nova Castle of Sandusky, OH; Clova Weigand of
Florida, Oma McKenzie of Paintsville, Ola Franklin and Katherine Rudd, both
of Fairborn, OH.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 29, in the Rockhouse Freewill
Baptist church with Reverends Don Fraley and Richard Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park with Jones- Preston Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
