Forty-nine-year-old James Wallace Salyers passed away suddenly at his Oil
Springs home on Wednesday, May 6. He was buried at the Salyers Cemetery at
Wheelersburg on May 9.
 
The Jones-Preston Funeral Home cared for the arrangements.
 
Funeral services were conducted earlier by the Rev. Frank Spillman at the
Oil Springs United Methodist Church.
 
Salyers, a former welder and Veteran of World War II, was born in Johnson
County to Lilly Cantrell Salyers and the late Tony Lee Salyers.
 
He is survived by his wife, Ann Slone Salyers; a son from Paintsville, Jerry
Salyers; two daughters, Wanda Sue Salyers of Oil Springs and Vicky Stambaugh
of Hager Hill; four brothers, Earl Salyers of Beatyville, McKinley Salyers
from Salyersville, Gerald Salyers of Marion, Ohio and Marvin Salyers of
Wheelersburg, and three sisters, Wannie Brown of Mechanicsburg, Ohio,
Avanell Meade from Marion, Ohio, and Barbara Faye Salyers of Wheelersburg
and two grandchildren.
