ROSA SALYERS
1889-1978
Rosa Salyers, 88, died Sunday, January 1, in the Paintsville Hospital after
and extended illness.
Mrs. Salyers was born February 6, 1889, in Johnson County, the daughter of
Flem and Sarah McKenzie Dixon. She was a resident of Paintsville and a
member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Her husband, Austin Salyers, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Robert Salyers, of Fl; five daughters, Oma McKenzie and
Nova Castle of Paintsville; Clova Weigand, of Fl, Ola Franklin and Katherine
Rudd of Fairborn, OH; a brother Kenneth Dixon of Fairborn; three sisters,
Stella Dye and Hazel Preston of Fairborn and Cora Mahan of Louisville; 28
grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services held Wednesday, January 4, in the Jones- Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Don Fraley and Lee Music officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
