FLOYD SAMMONS

Floyd Sammons, 58, of Paintsville died Tuesday, October 5,
(1971), in the Paintsville Hospital following an extended
illness.

He was a retired mine engineer.

He was the son of the late Joe and Laura Hall Sammons.

Immediate survivors include his wife Myrtle Williams Sammons,
one son, Walter Sammons, of Newport News, Virginia, and one
daughter, Phyllis Grim of Flemingsburg, (Kentucky). Also
surviving are three brothers, Rev. John G. Sammons of Warfield,
Frank Sammons of Van Lear and Rev. T.A. Sammons of Ceiling,
Oklahoma and one sister Malta Phelps of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Short at 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 7 in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in
Staffordsville under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home.
