WILLIAM ROBERT SCURLOCK
1922-1993

Retired miner, William Robert Scurlock Jr., 71 died Saturday,
October 30, 1993, at Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Scurlock was born Saturday, April 7, 1922, in Johnson
County, the son of the late Henry and Ida VanHoose Scurlock.

He was a member of Baker Branch Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Oneida “Nig” Castle Scurlock; three
sons,, James of Paintsville, William ”Bill” of Tutor Key and
Everett of Clarksville, Tennessee; three brothers, Henry of
Lexington, Don of Vero Beach, Florida and Ova of Miami beach,
Florida; one sister, Fredia Price of Springfield, Ohio; and
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 2, 1993, at Baker
Branch Freewill Baptist Church, with Roger VanHoose officiating.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
