CLATE SELVAGE
1901-1976
Clate Selvage, 75, died Friday, April 23, in the Highlands Regional Medical
Center.
Mr. Selvage was born March 23, 1901 in Johnson County, and was the son of
John and Martha Hitchcock Selvage. He was a resident of Denver and a retired
miner.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Wright Selvage; 2 sons, J.C. of Denver and
Butch of Grove City, OH; 2 daughters, Georgene Reed of Staffordsville and
Sharlene O'Bryan of Grove City, OH; a brother, Add Selvage of Van Lear; 2
half brothers, Kelly Selvage of Portsmouth and Dewey Selvage of
Staffordsville; 2 half sisters, Tava Ealey of Staffordsville and Myrtle
Fairchilds of Paintsville; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, in the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Hondel Adams as officiating minister.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
