Abe Shepherd Sr., 69, of Irvine, formerly of Floyd County, died Saturday,
Jan. 19, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born Nov. 13, 1943, at Hippo, he was the son of the late Archer and Mary
Shepherd. He was a mechanic.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Abe Enoch Shepherd; three brothers,
William James Shepherd, Archer Shepherd Jr., and John Henry Shepherd; and two
sisters, Edna Mae Hale and Birdie Stidham.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Machelle Shepherd of Irvine; three
brothers, Richard Joe Shepherd of Salyersville, Wade Shepherd and Richie Owen
Shepherd, both of Gunlock; seven sisters, Shirley S. Minix of Salyersville,
Donna Johnson of Gunlock, Margie Tackett of Mount Sterling, Daisy Wireman of
Waldo, Sally Hale of Greenwich, Ohio, Betty Lou Hicks of Howell, Ind., and
Polly Williamson of Rome City, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 21, at Hall Funeral Home Chapel, with Greg
Minix officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville,
under direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
