Henry Sherman Dies Monday
Rites To Be Held At Van Lear Church

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 at the Van Lear
Freewill Baptist Church for Henry “ Buck” Sherman, 65. of West Van
Lear, who died suddenly Monday, Nov 21, 1955, afternoon of a heart
attack.

According to a report received here, he had been painting a roof
and was descending a ladder when he was stricken.

The son of Mrs. Lucinda Osborne Sherman and the late Henry R.
Sherman, he was born August 18, 1890, in Johnson County.

He was an employee of the North East Coal Company at Thealka and
Auxier prior to retiring a few years ago.

Surviving are his wife, May Conley Sherman, three sons, Cecil
Sherman, West Van Lear, Clyde Sherman, Dayton, Ohio, and Charles
Sherman at home; and two daughters, Mrs. Ezra Robinson, West Van
Lear, and Mrs. Christibelle Sherman, Dayton Ohio.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Henry Begley, Thealka,
and Mrs. Forrest Preston, River, and four brothers, Fred and
Alfred Sherman of Thealka, and E. T. and Earnest Sherman of this
city.

Burial will be in the family cemetery at West Van Lear under the
direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home.
