EDNA SHORT
1897-1968
Mrs. Edna Short of Paintsville died July 24 1968, at Harding
Hospital, Worthington, Ohio, after an a long illness.
Her husband Leonard Short preceded her in death in 1965.
She was the mother of Mrs. David S. Jones of Paintsville.
Born in March 1897, in Johnson County she was the daughter of
the late Dan Roberts and Carrie Belle Melvin Roberts.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a granddaughter, Sara Louise Jones, a
brother, Vern Roberts, and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Sowards, all of
Paintsville, and two sisters, Mrs. Jim Lambert, and Mrs Jessie
Rulong, of Huntington, W. Va.
Services were held Saturday, July 27, at the First Methodist
Church, with Rev. C.W. Krebs officiating.
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
Pallbearers were, Marvin D. Jones, Russell L. Kirk, Malcolm
Shearer, Jess Songer, Oran Theater, Robert Conley and Ralph
Preston.
The Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
