Katheryn Elizabeth Short, 88, died Saturday, Sep 9, in Salyersville Health
Care Center.
She was born Feb 10, 1901 in Johnson Co., the daughter of M. L. and Genoa
Lemaster Daniels. She was a retired postmaster.
Her husband, Dan Short, preceded her in death in 1964.
Surviving are a son, Joe Short; a brother, Charles C. Daniel of Tutor Key; 2
sisters, Zora Phelps of Van Lear, and Josephine Ward of Gloucester, VA; 3
grandchildren, Dan Curtis, William Joseph and Janie Short; a great grandson,
Bryan Shumate Short.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sep 12 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Jerry Scott officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
