Welman Short, 87, of Russell, formerly of Van Lear, died Wednesday,
Aug. 25, at Our Lady of Bellfonte Hospital, Russell.
  
Born April 2, 1923, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late
Welman and Lavina Preston Short. He was an insurance agent with
Commonwealth Life Insurance Company.
  
Survivors his wife, Joyce Collins Short of Russell.
  
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Keen Wood Baptist
Church, Russell.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Paintsville.
