Charley Simpson, a 68 year old Ulysses resident, died in a local hospital on
March 8, following an extended illness. A retired miner, he was born Aug 31,
1906, the son of the late William and Missouri Helton Simpson.
 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Miller Simpson on Feb 27,
1968.
 
Surviving are his second wife, Katherine Simpson; two daughters, Lora Blair
of Wabash, IN and Shirley Green of Berry, KY; one step daughter, Lisa
Blevins of Ulysses; three brothers, Walter Simpson of Red Bush, Roy Simpson
of Willard and Norman Simpson of Ypsilanti, MI; a sister, Mabel Duty of
Meally; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Simpson were held Tuesday, Mar 11 in the Chapel of
the Jones- Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville with Rev. Ellis Hamilton,
Bill Tackett and Irvin Castle officiating.
 
Interment was in the Highland Memorial park at Staffordsville. Arrangements
under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
