Funeral services were held April 6, at 1 p.m., at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, for Daniel “Dan” Sisco, 77, of Van Lear, who passed away April 4, at
Community Hospice Care Center, in Ashland.
 
He was born May 20, 1932, in Johnson County, the son of the late Melvin and
Garnett Mills Sisco.
 
He was a retired carpet installer and member of the Van Lear Freewill
Baptist Church,
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul David
Sisco; four brothers, Paul, Wilburn, Eugene, and Donald Sisco; and one
sister, Barbara Mills.
 
He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Hewlett Sisco; two sons, Melvin Daniel
“Dan” Sisco, of St. Amant, Louisiana, and Doug Sisco, of Meally; two
daughters, Delphia Sisco Maynard, of Thelma, and Dorothy Sisco Anderson, of
Gaston, South Carolina; one brother, Ed Sisco, of Bettsville, Ohio; two
sisters, Faye Comer, of North Ridgefield, Ohio, and Betty Webb, of Elyria,
Ohio; and, three grandchildren.
 
Services were conducted by Paul Wayne Browning and Harry Neal Frisby. Burial
was at Highland Memorial Cemetery, at Staffordsville.
 
Arrangements under the direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
