WILLIAM SMITH
1928-1995
William “Bill Hoss” Smith, 66 died Tuesday, January 10, 1995 at
Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
Mr. Smith was born Tuesday, August 27, 1928, in Johnson County, the
son of the late James Everett and Margaret Laney Smith.
He was a retired miner and member of the East Point Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Estep Smith; three daughters Mary Sue
Daniels of Thealka, Sharon Blanton of River and Sherry Bush of
Paintsville; one brother, Ben Smith of East Point; three sisters,
Ruth Castle of Wittensville, Alfair Castle of Thealka and Ella
Marie Tackett of Paintsville; and six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 14, 1995, at Thealka
Freewill Baptist Church with Don Fraley and Doc Caudill
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
