ELIZABETH SPARKS
1890-1960

Mrs. Elizabeth Sparks, wife of Oakley Sparks, died at her home on
Main Street Friday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m., following an illness of
three months.

The daughter of the late John Henry and Rebecca Ford Hall, she was
born in Pike County April 11, 1890, and had been a resident of this
city since 1928.

She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving besides her husband are two brothers, Jake Hall, Detroit,
Mich.; Earl Hall, Fairborn, Ohio; one sister, Mrs . Jane Martin,
Estill, Ky., one neice, Mrs. Wilma Meadows, of this city.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, May 15, from
the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Preston
and Rev. Don Fraley as officiating ministers.

Music was by the Williams Quartet.

Pallbearers were Carmel Castle, Carl Castle, Arville Castle,
Randolph Neely, Paul Butcher, Willis Sparks, Howard Sparks, Oakley
Gene Sparks and Earl Castle.

Honorary pallbearers were D. H. Dorton, Sr., O. T. Dorton, T. C.
Meade, J, C. Maggard, George Conley, J. B. Wells, Jr., Eascom
Chandler, Clarence Castle, Verner Hall, W. D. Sparks, Harry
Johnson, Tracy Pack and Lowell Phillips.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
