Russell B. Sparks, 79, of Flat Gap, died Thursday, Aug. 9, at Hospice
Care of Ashland.
Born July 20, 1928, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late Estill
and Clela Salyers Sparks. He was owner/operator of a service station
and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Persinger Sparks of Flat Gap; a
son, Danny Sparks of Hager Hill; two sisters, Hermalee Conley of
Brookville and Sybil Fyffe of Independence; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 12, at Preston Funeral Home,
Paintsville, with Harold Salyer and Don Barnett officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Preston Funeral Home.
