RUTH EVELYN SPARKS
1928-2004
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 28, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston
Funeral Chapel for Ruth Evelyn Spradlin Sparks, 76, who passed away
Thursday, March 25 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mrs. Sparks was born January 21, 1928 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of
the late Chalmer and Zora Johnson Spradlin.
She was an LPN and a merchant. She was preceded in death by her husband,
James Nelson Sparks.
Surviving are one son, John Richard Sparks of Staffordsville, Ky.; three
daughters, Kathy Terry and Cindy Butcher, both of West Van Lear, Ky., and
Elizabeth Dennison of Paintsville, Ky.; one sister, Wilma Jean Butcher of
Springfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Ronnie Spriggs and Lowell Webb, with burial in
the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of
Paintsville, Ky.
