BERTHA SPEARS
1890-1992
Bertha Cumbo Spears, 101, died Tuesday March 3 in River View Nursing Home,
Prestonsburg.
Mrs. Spears was born September 21, 1890 in Martin County, the daughter of
George and Sarah Goble Cumbo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Spears in 1956.
Surviving are four daughters, Georgie Steenburg of West Van Lear, Eula
Collins of Van Lear, Hazel Goble of Prestonsburg, and Janet Webb of Grayson,
and eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and seven great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 6, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Joe Adray officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
