WALTER SPEARS
1887-1973
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 9, 1973 for Walter
Spears, 84, who passed away at his home on Saturday, July 7, 1973.
A member of the Church of Christ, he was born December 25, 1887,
the son of the late John and Rena Hannah Spears and was a resident
of West Van Lear.
His wife, Fannie Goble Spears, survives along with a daughter,
Ollie Ruth Crum of Coal Grove, Ohio, and four sons, Frank Spears of
St. Joe, Indiana, Leland Spears of Ironton and Earl Spears and Bert
Spears of West Van Lear.
Also surviving are 14 grand children, 20 great grandchildren and
three great, great grandchildren.
Reverend Edgar Preston officiated at the 10:00 a.m. services in the
Chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with burial following in
Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with arrangements under
the direction of the funeral home.
