Vera Stafford, 63, of Oil Springs, died Monday, December 15 in a local
hospital after an illness of several months.
 
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, December 17 in the Methodist
Church at Oil Springs with Reverend Frank Spillman officiating.
 
Interment followed in the Stafford Cemetery at Oil Springs with the
Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
 
Born in Johnson County on July 22, 1906, she was the daughter of the late
Ben F. and Molly Meade Mahan.
 
She was a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, Earl Stafford,
preceded her in death in February of 1965.
 
Survivors include three daughters, Miss Betty Stafford of Oil Springs, Mrs.
Edna McBrayer of St. Albans, WV, and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Rice of Warren, MI;
four grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Mahan of Van Lear and Charlie Mahan
of Ashland; and a sister Pearl Nickell of Ashland.
