JOHN R. STAMBAUGH
1914-1988
John R. Stambaugh, 74, died Monday, November 7, in Paul B. Hall Regional
Medical Center.
Mr. Stambaugh was born April 4, 1914 in Johnson County, the son of Samuel
and Rebecca Marie LeMaster Stambaugh.
He was a retired miner and member of Ramey Branch Community Gospel Church.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Litteral Stambaugh; three sons, Samuel of
Sitka, and Willard and John both of Sunbury, OH; one daughter, Ruth Hayslett
of Sitka; two brothers, Ray Stambaugh of Sitka and Ephrim Stambaugh of Oil
Springs; five sisters, Myrtle Spears, and Mary Gillespie, both of Delaware,
OH, Colista Church of Ashland, Lisa Castle of Wharton, WV and Imogene Brown
of Sitka; 12 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and
two step great grandchildren.
Funeral services held Thursday, November 10 in Preston Funeral Home Chapel
with John Fred Ramey officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
